Shaping a surfboard for solid European waves was Chris Christenson’s initial concept and he nailed it. Lots of waves, winters, barrels and feedbacks later came Aritz Aranburu.

The Water Lion caught Aritz’s eye and he started to take it to pro levels. He scanned the shape with Christenson’s elite European team of craftsmen and slowly got rid of all the excesses to match his skills.
The result? A sharp tool of its own.
It’s designed to start working well in proper hollow waves and can definitely be pushed to 6-8 foot waves.
The outline has been sharpened and doesn’t have such a full front end for paddling; if you are good surfer you are a great paddler.
The original baby squash tail was influenced by one of Chris’ shaping heroes, Pat Rawson, but here comes another tweak; The Ultra can be ordered with the original baby squash tail or the new baby swallow tail that Aritz loves.
And for that matter, you can also combo the fin set up: thruster or quad? you make the call.
