PUKAS SURF SHOP – TXOTX
Surfing The Basque Country – Txotx
Â
This tee represents one of our most iconic gastronomic traditions in the Basque Country: Txotx.
You may be wondering what it is but we will beginning by explaining what it means for our culture and all that it entails. Txotx is expending time with friends, family, having a great time and having an amazing big basque traditional meal… It means music, it means conversation, it means laughter, it means singing and yes, it also means getting a bit tipsy, if you ask us.
Txotx traditionally means the invitation to get up from the table you are having lunch or dinner from. Going to the opening of the apple sider kupela (barrel) tap and having a glass of cider directly poured to your special sider glass. Don’t forget to say “txotx” when it is your turn to get your glass of cider. Try to keep balance if you enjoy to much a cider stroll.
Â
All that is represented in the graphic on the back of the tee: the traditional table cloth, the apple and the glass of apple sider.
We wanted to offer a little piece of our culture well enlivened with the world of surfing, hence the wink of the wave and signature ‘Surfing the Basque Country’ that you can subtly see in the glass of cider.
Enjoy Txotx!
